The U.S. Senate opened debate on a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage today, but even proponents know it's a losing cause--for now. Supporters are happy nonetheless since the vote will place Senators voting against the amendment in the company of homosexual deviants who believe they have the same rights as anyone else, the fools.

Democrats are acusing the Republicans of politicizing the Constitution, and Republicans are calling gay marriage an assault on a pillar of civilization.

The vote is expected next week.
