Games women play

Turns out it ain't the little boys spending all their time playing pointless games on their cell phones--it's the chicks. The Yankee Group reports that 58% of U.S. mobile gamers are women, and cell phone companies are paying attention.

Why do women like the phone games so much? A gamer's sex is likely to be exactly the reverse on PCs or consoles, where only 39% are female. In short, it's because the cell phone games usually involve one special component--they're multiplayer. And though women are no less competitive than men, they also like social interaction while they're kicking ass.
