The city of Philadelphia may become the world's biggest WiFi hotspot if the proposed $10 million plan is approved.

Several other cities already have large municipal wireless networks, but Philly's would be the biggest yet. Repeaters and transmitters would be placed throughout the city, suddenly bringing broadband access to neighborhoods that can't support a wired infrastructure.
