SETI@home, the online project that uses screensavers on millions of personal computers to check out radio telescope signals, may have picked up its first real phone call from an alien civilization.

Scientists are excited but cautious, since the radio signal from a point between the Pisces and Aries constallations could be some previously unknown naturally occurring space thing, or even the telescope itself feeding funny data back.

But, promisingly, the broadcast is occuring on the main frequency at which hydrogen absorbs and emits energy--which astronomers believe is the most likely manner that our nearby neighbors would pick up the reciever and go, "Hey, what's up?"

UPDATE! Nevermind.
