As November 2nd fast approached, everyone’s getting all up in this election’s bizness, including cabaret, burlesque and porn peoples. The New York Times reports on the various electoral activities of the fleshly few and their admirers. And, unsurprisingly, they’re pulling (as it were) for John Kerry.
From strip clubs in Austin to The Hustler Club in Manhattan, volunteers are handing out voter education pamphlets and signing up new voters by the hundreds, driven by the current administration’s anti-breast crusades and clear distaste for the prurient interests of the populace.
Chief among their concerns; the continuing erosion of privacy rights under the Ashcroft regime and The Patriot Act. The Act allows law enforcement agencies to require any business to hand over their financial records, which would include credit card charges and membership rolls. The government, some believe, has no business in their business.
