The FCC is fining CBS $550,000 for having the temerity, nay, the absolute gall to display Janet Jackson’s right breast during this year’s Super Bowl broadcast. How much Yahoo! will have to pay for having said breast displayed on its ‘most popular news photos’ page for weeks was not disclosed.
Each CBS-owned station was fined the maximum penalty allowed, which upset the two Democrats on the commission, but not the way you probably think—they thought it should have been higher.
Dear Janet, Please come to San Francisco. You can walk around completely naked all you want, and no one can do jack shit about it.
So a flash of Janet’s chest is worth a little over a million bucks. But wait!
A hundred and forty million people were watching the game, and that puts each of their contributions at only seven-tenths of a penny.
Janet, honey, I’ll kick in my share anytime.
