Big trouble brewing in NYC over radio station Hot97’s morning show and their incredibly tasteless if not downright cruel “Tsunami Song,” which asks the musical question, “you better run or kiss your ass away, go find your mommy — I just saw her float by, a tree went through her head.”
Okay, not so much a question as just really sort of heartless and amazing in its stupidity. The entire song is available online for those wishing to hear it firsthand.
New Yorkers who would like to show their distaste and anger over the song and the station’s soft-pedelled apology can show up at Caroline’s on Broadway near 49th this Friday morning at 8am when Hot 97’s hilarious DJs (one of whom, Todd Lynn, reportedly said on air “I’m gonna start shooting Asians”) will be in attendance to promote their brand of racist hyjinks.
