The Senate Foreign Relations Committee voted 10-8 to send the nomination of Michael Bolton to the Seante, but didn’t give him a recommendation saying that he’s an okay songwriter but his singing has been known to make babies cry and the ears of the deaf to bleed.

“I’ve never been a Bolton fan,” committee member Sen. George Voinovich, R-Ohio, explained. “And frankly, the man massacred ‘When A Man Loves A Woman.’ That, right there, is unforgivable. And don’t even get me started about ‘Sitting on the Dock of the Bay.”

When told that the nomination was not for Michael Bolton but walrus-‘stached hothead John Bolton, the Republican-dominated committee said, “Oopsie!” and collectively shrugged and went back to making it the business of the Federal Government to be the morality police of the nation.
