That look of perpetual surprise on the President's face isn't faked: He and his Administration appear incapable of anticipating the sunrise.

  • Condoleeza Rice, May 16, 2002: "I don't think anybody could have predicted that they would try to use an airplane as a missile."
  • George W. Bush, September 1, 2005: "I don't think anyone anticipated the breach of the levees."

The two biggest one-day disasters of the Bush presidency -- of the past fifty years -- and the collective response of the President and his advisors is: "Well, goll-lee!" Thousands lay dead, hundreds of billions of dollars in property is destroyed and the people charged with our protection and safety can only tell us that, well, we never really gave it much thought.

I am so mad at these morons, I want to vomit.

But it's not the federal government's job to evacuate cities and provide front line rescues. That falls to the mayors and governers, then after they have done all they can...then the federal government takes up the remaining slack. From what I see, the mayor nor the governer did their jobs and the Federal government is not set up to take their slack as well.

humanic added:

funny. I believe (not 100% *POSITIVE*) it was Scientific American that did a story on what would happen to New Orleans in a Cat-5 about a year or two ago. They hit it EXACTLY. To bad Dub the Shrub (the Little Bush) can't read...

rusty shackleford added:

im surprised they got re-elected, i cant believe the worst president ever got reelected...

trond added:

ha ha ha... f****** americans... we told you EVERYTHING about:

1. Bush
2. Iraq
3. Life, the universe & everything (OK, that was Douglas Adams, ut hey - he's still a European)

- but you refused to listen. Not only suckers, but obese, low-carb, high-fat, defunct-brain suckers!!

DAC added:

Oh, so it was the President's fault, huh? Boy I sure wish we had a great guy like Clinton back, don't you?
